Who smiles
Who gives
Who goes
To another country
Then
Comes home
Brings his knowledge
To his family
Of what he has learned
Of another family
Of another country
You see
How we all
Become
One Family?

It is A Wonderful Life Proud of You

The returned traveller is different from the man who remained at home.
He loves more intimately,
and he is freer from the demands of justice and delusion.
Justice is the virtue of those who remain at home,
an old virtue of primitive man.
We younger ones have no use for it.
We know only one happiness: Love;
and only one virtue: Trust
A poem by Hermann Hesse… poet, traveller, novelist and philospher
I like your words Cara, they are true. Those who come back bring back the world of understanding.
Did you know that “cara” means “friend” in Irish (Gaelic)?
Cara Schingeck:
Good learning tonight
Thank you my always and you know you taught me something new about my name Cara, meant also “face” in Spanish, I learned this from a friend I knew long ago named Felix, he was Cubin and a neighbor of mine when I was very young. He was a good friend of mine.
Cara Schingeck:
I hear you say that our veterans have more soul and for this I say rock and roll to all those who have served in our wars. Thank you
Cara Schingeck:
I say “was” because he is dead now, killed himself—jumped off of freeway overpass in downtown Seattle long ago at the time it was going no where now it is going somewhere. Isn’t that funny? Not really. He was a United States Marine
Cara Schingeck:
I should have said at the time he was looking for somewhere to go maybe he found it I don’t know
I know he is not here now
He is somewhere I believe
I know in my soul that he is true

It is so hard to accept that someone could reach that point, that something could not be done to help him. And to choose a dead end road is too ironic. Maybe if he could have been helped his life could be going somewhere now. Sad story Cara, friend…so sad. Hoping you are well. I hope the boys are back from the war and feel OK.. so important that they feel OK.
