Here is one of my images taken for my latest series up close and personal

I thought it was time to get the camera back out (its been a while) and go and meet some animals.. i hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoyed taking them.

Meet ‘Altona’ the Australian Pelican.

Australian Pelicans are the largest of the world’s seven pelican species.
The two Australian Pelicans Australian Pelicans are the largest of the world’s seven pelican species.

The two Australian Pelicans that reside at the melbourne zoo were birds that were found in the wild with injuries and brought to the Zoo for treatment.
‘Altona’ arrived at the Zoo in February 2002 with a serious wing injury. She has regained her health, but as she won’t be able to fly again she cannot fend for herself in the wild, so she has remained in the Zoo.
