morning in june

image captured in rye, victoria very early on a cold june morning
it was a very beautiful moment in time for me… the cormorant sat here for some time perhaps trying to warm itself in the small amount of light making its way through the morning fog… or even looking for some breakfast… in anycase it was quite the magical moment…

this image is a hand printed silver gelatin print that has then been blue toned
the actual print is on 205×255mm paper
image itself measures at 155×155 mm
i have tried to keep this image as close to the original as is possilble, so this is a straight flatbed scan no adjustments aside from dust removal in PS

l love it, cara! what a magical moment, captured. So beautifully. Please explain silver gelative paper – is this from a large format camera? Sorry, I’m still learning all about this and I don’t think I’ve seen a silver gelatine print on RB before.

  • caradione replied

sorry my typo silver gelatin is the word (not gelatine) i will have to fix that… and The silver-gelatin process is the photographic process used with currently available black-and-white films and printing papers for more informatin on this head here
it is basically another term for a true black and white print…
this image is all hand printed then blue toned .. from here i scanned the print to place onto red bubble so what you see has not actually be altered digitally aside from removal of a few dust pieces… many black and white images these days are performed digitally..
im so glad you like this nadine and i hope i have helped with your querie
