This is Jack – the youngest of three brothers in the band, He is sooooo animated that it took 30+ shots to get the sticks moving and the head fairly still – but still a bit blurred. Wasn’t sure about the crop but the drum kit looked so good.
As per the other photo it gives a real sense of action – mid performance – as it were. I think it’s a great photo and the colours are superb. Well done!
haha – you should see my shots of a great band over here Venomentality…the drummer Ben is a mad man and makes faces all the time, so I don’t think I have one great shot of him…so I understand what you mean…but I like the fact that you see them in action so to speak! :)
again good work… i like the fact you have left the breathing space for the drummer and resisted the temptation for a closer shot. as for blurring again add’s to the drama and the liveness of the event. it is hard to show a live event without drama. remember if this shot was everything you tried to achieve it would be dull and yet another studio shot. posed and no realism. don’t think too much.. nice picture. al
