My daughter has just started singing and playing with a band called… Dammit Jack. This was their first gig with her at the Derby Uni Fresher’s Ball. They really rocked the place and I was really struggling, with no flash to capture some images.

I’m so glad you didn’t use flash. I have tried using flash when photographing bands but the spotlight colours don’t come out well. This is a great photo Chris :)
flash flash god forget the flash. try a faster lens and up your iso. ok trade off is grain and noise but what the hell it add’s to the effect and ambience. nice shot more space to the left of the frame don’t box a great subject in. al
