" Remember us when we are gone " by

Remember us when we are gone.
When ages pass and rocks can speak.
Listen carefully to their story.

A story only they know from beginning to end.
A story about when we were created from dust.
How we first roamed the lands.

How we hunted , how we thrived.
How the land helped us to survive.
How proud we walked these lands.

We conquered all the world.
We ate from all that WE produced.
Never thinking to give thanks.

We tore up all the land.
For cities we did build.
We fished out all the seas.

We raped and poisoned our own nest.
No more milk came from mothers breasts.
" One more bomb , it’s just a test."

Now were gone , the rocks attest.
Perhaps the earth can find its rest !

A very powerful picture and poem, Pop’s! People forget that it is not really possible for Man to destroy the Earth. It would recover in time. The extinction of the human race, however, is certainly within Man’s power. If it were not for the intervention of Almighty God, he would probably have achieved it decades ago!

Just to qualify my previous statement, by “he” I meant “Man”

  • Thanks Rose and I knew what you meant.
