" The Passing of an Icon " by CanyonWind

Posted on November 06, 2011

Many may have failed to notice the passing of an American Icon . With him probably passed honest , truthful , hard hitting journalism . He spoke his mind even when his bosses did not agree with him . There was no subject he was afraid to take on . No power that was beyond his biting , sometimes sarcastic words . He said it like it was and the devil take the hind most . He rubbed elbows with Presidents , celebrities and others , but never let it effect his hard hitting , often , in your face journalism .

So lets pause and give though to the passing of a man who , spoke his mind , told the truth and probably worked longer than many of us have lived . So long , happy trails , let the presses roll , screw politically correctness , and some things I can’t mention . You will be missed Andy Rooney ! FRIEND .

Hear, hear… the man will be missed, not just for his viewpoints, of which he had many, but for his plain and simple honesty- something rare these days. A great send off here Pop’s.
