I have noticed how many groups don’t allow writings or journal entries . I just got to thinking a little about in . Do they want their groups to remain pure photographic art . Something you can see ? Well here we at , " The world as we see it , or as we missed it ". We have a different set of values that set us apart from those who exclude writings and journals . Our writers , write pictures that set our minds wandering , imagining just what they wrote , through their eyes . So I consider our writers your loss , and out artistic gain . We can sit back and READ anothers invisable pictures . Oh I know that their are those who will disagree , so I will read your words , just like writings , and try to invision just what you are trying to get me to see . Thank you to all of out writers both here and in the writing groups.

Bravo Pop’s I agree.. every now and again,, I just want to sit and read a poem, a story and go off into another place with the writers words and use my brain to create the images from their words.. I think the reason many grps. do not except writes is because it means taking some time to read them to make sure there is nothing profane or political or religious for fear again of offending others..
so this group is the exception out of the norm,, because it embraces all art ,, whether visual or word stimulating, ,thank you for that, please never change that.. and keep on doing what you always do,, inspire us all,, peace and love linmarie

  • CanyonWind:

Thank you Lin. Most hosts don’t take the time to read each work as they should , but they take the time to look at featured works.
    Big hugs.

  • CanyonWind:

Thank you . We do embrace all art on our group with the exception of nudes or something that violates RB rules .

All I ask with the Journals submitted to my groups is that they are not a constant string of Thank You’s for Featuring my work. It isn’t that I don’t appreciate the intent…which I do…it’s just that I would much prefer to read what someone has written about their work…or about the sort of art that the group reflects. If the work has been Featured its due to the talent and creativity of the artist…we as moderators just acknowledge that talent… by Featuring the work. My focus is admittedly on the art, not the words written about the art….I have to focus the time that I have available on what the intent of the group is…which is photography. After I retire I hope to have more time to focus on the written words since that is where a good part of my heart has always been.

  • CanyonWind:

And our group embraces ALL facets of art . Writers are often ignored . But they play a major roll in our group.

I agree POP’s, without words there’s no vision (no vision, no art to make it alive). Need both to be complete.

  • CanyonWind:

Often JR. I wish I had someone to put my photos to poetry . I did at one time . She was an old lady in Florida who was bedridden. With her pets and laptop , I gave her my works and in a matter of two minutes they came back with a poem. She wrote under the name of , " Sequioah Sez" . She has been gone for two years now.

This group rocks, because words can tell a story, can project a feeling, can inspire a mind, can make a blind person see, can bring peace to the world, and it is because of these excellent people as yourselves that devote the time for the rest of the groups to see the beauty of communication. Each person has a way of sending messages across the world, and in this group no one is turned down or belittled, a super group of beautiful people caring for each other. Go do what you do best pops, we all care about how you allow any and all of us to be part of something so special, belonging to a group with pride and courage to listen to the hearts of everyone through pictures, poems and stories, bless this group and all of its members.

  • CanyonWind:

Thank you Oscar for being so much part of this group.

Pictures are worth a thousands words, and yet the mind can make more out of what it can imagine than see.
We all have wonderful imaginations, that is our key to creation, invention, etc.
CanyonWind, thank you for this enlighting journal. May it open more minds, and make people be more imagintive and receptive to all wonderful works.

  • CanyonWind:

You are totally right . Perhaps it will open peoples eyes a bit and set some imaginations flying free. Yes a picture is worth a thousand words . But try showing that to a child instead of a bedtime story .
