a male common flicker picks out a good perch to check out the suet feeder, and all the activity taking place. In the midst of a huge snow storm, the birds were flocking to the feeders to fill their bellies, as the snow keeps falling. Notice the black moustache extending from the beak well past the eye, the only marking that is different between the male and female, the female lacks the moustache.
