Thankyou Peter, In Australia we observe a very english tradition and have debutante balls. The coming out of young ladies into the adult society!! Very old fashioned, but popular in rural towns. The young ladies have an escort of their choosing and are formally introduced to society at a debutante ball, and dance some old fashioned dances ie pride of errand, waltz. The parents pay a fortune for a white dress that is worn once!
