Southern Swamp Lilies grow wild among the cypress roots along the banks of the Ocklawaha River. The The Ocklawaha River is the principal tributary of the St. Johns River and forms the western boundary of the Ocala National Forest. The 110 mile long river flows north from Central Florida until it joins the St. Johns River near Palatka, Florida. Southern Swamp Lilies are native to Florida and these regal relatives of the amaryllis have scents ranging from sweet citrus to haunting musky spice.
