Used and Abused
This old Naval Training Center Housing Office in Orlando, FL has been almost torn to bits. Graffiti artists, taggers, paintballers, vandals and arsonists have brought it to it’s present state. Strange that it’s been so used as there is a fire station right next to it. When I arrived there were two men in a mail truck doing some sort of driving training in what used to be the front parking lot, weaving in and out of little orange cones. I don’t think they ever realized I was there.

More great images – these are great Rebecca. Although I feel sort of sad that we live in a society that can just throw away stuff like it does…

Thanks, Adriana. Very true about the “throw away” mentality. I’ve seen photographs of several very large state and government owned hospitals aand institutions where very expensive reusable equipment has simply been left to rot. A nice use of our taxpayer dollars.

Amazing shots, Rebecca…but sad to see so much waste and abandenment. Looks like the site is being used as dumping grounds, also…the old merry-go-round! it looks so out of place there.
Your series of photos are wonderful!!
Rebecca Cruz replied
Thank you, Peri! The old merry-go-round actually does belong there, believe it or not! I was surprised by it also, but it seems there was a little playground outside the housing office for the families who lived in the naval housing.
