Muscle cars in Queensland

Posted 4 months ago

I’m putting together some more detailed looks for Eucalypse: Brisvegas next month, and am looking to do a 1960s/70s Underbelly/Miami Vice type shoot alongside the two similar era hotels we’ll be shooting at on the Gold Coast.

I’m wondering if anyone out there (in QLD in particular) might happen to know some people who know some people, who might be able to supply us with some wh…

Brisbane shoot

Posted 6 months ago

After deciding to postpone the main Eucalypse shoot until November, we went ahead with a smaller weekend event given a few of us were going to be there and a few of the venues wanted us to get some images for them sooner rather than later.

I’ve written up a summary of the shoot along with some of my unedited images on the Eucalypse website.

Jealous? Of course you are.

Get off your arse and …

3 day photoshoot in Brisbane and the Gold Coast

Posted 8 months ago

This year we’re pulling up our mud-drenched, ice-encrusted boots from Melbourne’s boggy winter streets, and we’re heading north for some Sun, sand and snapping in Brisbane and the Gold Coast over 3 (and for some people, four) days.

We start the shoot in Brisbane’s CBD, kicking off at two of the most prestigious addresses in the city: Eagle Street Pier and Waterfront Plac

Feel like shooting in Brisvegas and the Gold Coast?

Posted about 1 year ago

Glutton for punishment that I am, I decided that spending 10 months organising a multi-day photoshoot in my home city was not enough of a challenge, so I’m gonna try and organise one in a city 2000km away, and in half the time.

Not sure it can be done or not, but I’m keen to give it a crack.

Let me know if you’re up for it by registering for Eucalypse: Brisvegas

…also, I c…

Eucalypse: Brisvegas

Posted about 1 year ago

As I’ve already alluded to, our November 2010 shoot went so well I’ve decided to really challenge myself, and try to organise one of these things remotely. We’re going to Brisvegas in July or August, and we’re aiming for more (but in less time).

I’ve got a great big list of places to contact in the coming weeks. There’s loads of potential here and down the coas…

Looking to beat the wrecking ball

Posted about 1 year ago

If you haven’t been in central Melbourne recently, you’ll have noticed that Myer Lonsdale Street is looking a bit empty. You’ll also notice that Lonsdale House is gone, and the David Jones Store on Little Bourke Street has closed.

The David Jones store is about to be demolished and the Myer building will soon be refitted for apartments etc. Arcade Alley (http://bit.ly/gkyPhA) si…

Eucalypse 2011

Posted about 1 year ago

So, who’s interested in helping me put together the next one?

I’m looking at a city that isn’t Melbourne. Sydney would be pushing it. I’m liking Brisvegas or Perth.

Timing will depend on the location but it’d be likely to be between June and October 2011.

Any takers?

I once got chewed out for not having completed work on an email template before it was sent into production. This one made me giggle.

4 day photo shoot in Melbourne

Posted over 1 year ago

I’ve spent much of this year negotiating with venues around central Melbourne, to get their involvement in Eucalypse – an Australian version of an istockphoto mini-lypse. Photographers in the group will be from a variety of online communities such as redbubble, deviantart and here (as well as istockphoto).

You can read full details and register here.

The gist of it is this though:
