To Whom it May Concern,
Nearly twelve years ago, I began my foray into the world of digital imaging and editing, as a Photopaint Quality Assurance Specialist with Corel Corporation. Since then, I have been seduced by the likes of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, Neatimage, and Photomatix. Having managed to teach myself more than just the basics of these programs, I have now also begun to create my own images using a Canon XTi Digital Rebel. Many months were spent researching cameras, lenses, filters and the supporting software, till a final decision was reached. I am tenacious, creative, and have a driving need to learn, all qualities I feel would be of benefit in the field of digital photography and imaging. My goal is to blend the use of software with high quality images to share ideas, create reactions, and convey a message. Certainly you often hear in these letters of a passion for the art, for the final creation of a piece… I love this too, but to me it is also about the process itself, as I love to work with my computer to edit, and create! I fondly refer to my husband as a Photoshop widower, since he often loses me to hours and hours of creative flow. I chose the Digital Photography and Imaging course because it is the best blend of technology and art that will allow me to improve my talent base, to better understand design and the concept of digital art, and because it really and truly was something I feel incredibly passionate about. I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
