I remember the farmers that farmed this land. They rented from an owner in Denver and lived in the old farm house set way back off the county road. They share-cropped. Jake had an accident and his wife Hannah worked side by side with him. Nobody moved in when they left the old farm and the sheds began to lean. The farmhouse and all the out buildings were raised and the property developed directly east of my small acreage. Memories linger …
cool. this reminds me of traveling across 80 in Ohio. I’ve always found these dilapidated structures very unique
Thanks, this old building has been bull-dozed away and the area has been cleared for a development. I was fortunate to have some photos before all this happened.
When the farmers that were share cropping the land moved, the old farm house and out buildings were abandoned until the owner sold the land. Then the developers moved in. The development is east of my small acreage. Million dollar prairie castles have replace the farmland. It’s progress, it’s sad. Barb

All these old buildings have a story to tell. Thank you for sharing yours. This is a marvelous capture of something that stood tall and proud.
Yes, I watched baby lambs in this old building together with heat lamps and a bedding of straw. Barb
Congrats on your Feature Barbara…you are so right is is beyond repair indeed
One never forgets the memories. Open space and fields; sheds, buildings and the farmers that tended to their livelihood. That’s all that’s left now. Barb
