I took a photo of the Old State House in downtown Boston when I visited there in the summer of 2005. The lighting was perfect and it seemed like it was glowing. I also liked how the building contrasted the surrounding skyscrapers. I had considered doing a painting of it for some time. I finally got around to doing it as a thank you gift for friends in Boston.
