2010 ARIA Award Nomination

What a massive past couple of months it’s been. Life has certainly been a roller coaster recently. To touch on a few things, my girlfriend of nearly 8 years broke up with me which sent my entire life upside down, then I find out I’ve been nominated for an ARIA Award for best cover art of 2010. Then I exhibit some work in Melbourne and New York, get to meet all the guys from Dead Letter Circus in person and hang out with them backstage (and on stage!), I then move into my own place and am slowly adjusting to living by myself, then work tells me they want me to become a manager and have put together a year long training plan for me to get there, and in between that I’m contacted by countless bands, magazines and followers of my work regarding possible collaborations and fu…

TV Interview

I received a phone call from Southern Cross News here in Tassie yesterday morning asking if I’d be willing to be interviewed by them about my recent project with Dead Letter Circus and Warner Music.
I was REALLY nervous because I’m not much of a fan of being in front of cameras, but they talked me into it and it turned out better than I expected haha.
Thought I’d post it for my friends here on RB to see. Hope you enjoy. The photo they used at the start is shocking! haha

peace and love

*Edit* Video: Making Of "One Step"

Edited Journal -——

Hey guys, so the band really loves the video, and so does Warner, but they would like me to keep the video private now and have it on the fan page of their website once it’s finished. So I won’t be able to share the video just yet.

Thanks so much to who has seen it and posted such great comments, I’ll take it on board and hopefully create some sort of video tutorial in the future.
Any of the work I create that isn’t for the band, I’ll try to record as well and I’ll be able to post that without restriction.

Thanks guys!

Hey bubblebuds!

So many of you know I’ve been working with Dead Letter Circus on some artwork recently. We’ve been playing around with a heap of ideas for …

"And Though We Fade Away" being licensed to Warner

Hi there friends,

And Though We Fade Away is about to be licensed to Warner Music and in my agreement I won’t be able to sell prints of one of my most popular pieces. So And Though We Fade Away is now officially a limited edition print until I sign the contract in which the piece will no longer be available for purchase.
So if you really like this artwork and were planning on purchasing it either for yourself or a present for a loved one, you should get ya skates on! We will sign it off within the next 2 weeks.

I should also note though that I am still free to exhibit the work in galleries and to have it included in my books, speaking of which! I’m planning a brand spanking new high quality portfolio book! The new book will be a collection of my most popular works as well as so…

A Nice Surprise, International Honour Society

Last night was a freezing 2 degrees and I ended up getting a slight chest cold over night, so this morning as I was just about to ride to Uni for my photography class, I started coughing, sniffling, sneezing and feeling like rubbish, had trouble breathing and basically not feeling great. I decided at the last minute that riding 10km to class on a frosty morning with a chest cold probably wasn’t going to end with smiles so I chose to go back to bed and spend the day keeping warm and relaxing.

At around 1pm I was sitting at my laptop doing some research on a new camera I’m looking at purchasing for a project I’m working on, my girlfriend didn’t have to start work until 3 so she was sitting at the dining table sorting through the recent few days of junk mail that had …

Yes I’m still alive. Well, I think I’m still alive anyway. A tall goat like creature with a name which resembles that of a quality silk like fabric keeps poking me in the back with some sort of gardening fork.

Getting very hot in here too…..
hmmm.

So anyway, I’m currently working on a very ambitious project which involves bringing my artwork to life through various animation techniques, something I’m really developing on my own as I go since there is no status quo for this kind of project. I’ve kept the project very quiet so far but my initial experiments have been very promising so I can openly talk about parts of it now and I’m hoping to have a sneak peek or an example up some time soon as well.

But more recently, I’ve been featured and int…
