Jeffrey Smart is one of my favourite urban artists and I’m always looking for urban scenes that echo some of his paintings. Although this shot is nothing like a Smart painting, around the area where this shot is taken exsists quite a few structures that remind me of a few of his paintings. I have to go back and see if I can capture them with my plastic cameras. This image taken on my Diana, a medium format “toy camera” with Fuji 160 NPC film.

Yes – I share the same affinity with Jeffrey Smart… This does have the elements of a Smart painting… Melbourne is full of a new style urban landscape emergeing and just waiting to be captured. This image has a great feel to it. Nice work!

Thanks Paul, I’ve noticed a resonance in your images with Smart’s works as well!
