Apparently u reached it first. Fantastic job. what’s the altitude?
Hi Joe, certainly did. I overtook them just below the summit ridge (down to the left). they were a team of russians, and the peak is the Strahlhorn between Zermatt and Saas Fee about 4200m. It’s a really long tiring mountain to do, and I ripped my left cruciate ligament on the way up. It’s a 2 day climb. On the 2nd day you start from the Britannia Hut, then climb down to the glacier at 1am. Then 7-8 hours slog over morraine and up the glacier, then a long summit ridge. it’s actually quite a bit steaper than it looks in this shot. In the background is the Rimpfischhorn, about the same altitude. Beyond that to the right the Mischabel group.
