This is awesome!! It’s Pete’s favorite!!
Dennis Jones -... replied
I was on a bad roll there for a bit… I missed five different attempts with either out of focus or never got dialed in, never even tripping the shutter.

Pete got a hummingbird feeder for Christmas but it’s still pretty cold here – don’t want the feed to freeze. Our fountain and the bird bath was all ice this morning!

I look closely and I see…it’s tongue? Yes, and I do see the pollen, but most of all I see the beauty!
Dennis Jones -... replied
The tip of the tongue and pollen on his head… Can’t ask for much more than that… Thanks for stopping by

Hey, I think I’m starting to be able to tell your little friends apart! This little guy seems more magenta than the other. Or is it just the lighting? Either way, I love these guys and nope…not bored yet! :)
Dennis Jones -... replied
We have two male we confirmed today. I need to look at them a little closer.
Melissa Hintz
Oh, no way! Those are the photos I live for!! Keep shooting!!
Dennis Jones -... replied
Between the hummer tongues or the woodpecker tongues, I get a kick out of capturing them…

Dennis Jones -... replied
Thanks Jonicool, for stopping by… the males don’t seem to want to land. They keep me on my toes…

On this one, about 18 inches from the focal plane, about 8 inches from the end of the lens hood.
