Very powerful. My heart always goes out to these individuals. They are just like the rest of us, except life was very unfair.

what a reality check! now when people look on their calendars to see what they have to do, they can be reminded of those who have no calendar, maybe they wont bitch as much for that day! excellent collection judith
Judith Oppenhe... replied
thank you helene – that was sort of the idea, a daily reminder. :-)

A wonderful and thought proviking collection Judith. The irony of it all is that those who are featured don’y have hte money nor need for a calender, while many who can afford it would not only refuse to have such art on their wall, but refuse to acknowledge there is a large unresolved problem in many of our communities. I know of some moderately wealthy people who truthfully believe photos like this are staged… so sad…both those people and the situation

for me a calendar like this serves a dual purpose – a daily reminder to be mindful of those less fortunate, and to be grateful for what you have. we can only be responsible for what we do with our own awareness. those moderately wealthy people will come to their own truths in their own time.

I’m not making a sexist comment but do you notice how they are all men? In all my years I have yet to come across more then 1 homeless woman. Is there something we men are doing wrong? Or is there something that supports woman in a better way? I have often wondered about that. Wonderful gallery.

February is a woman, and one of the people in November is a woman. There are many very visible, laid out on the sidewalks homeless women in my neighborhood (Gramercy Park/Murray Hill) in New York City. Thank you for your comments.
