The assemblage of cacti in the Huntington Desert Garden, San Marino, California, offer a feast to the eyes. This Garden is one of the largest and oldest gathering of cacti and other succulents in the world. Arrayed over 10 acres in 60 landscaped beds are more than 5,000 species.
These warriors of the desert are here an army at rest.
There is little doubt these ‘barrels’ could hold their own. ;-) Seeing cacti anywhere is interesting but the assemblage in this garden is almost overwhelming….
Huntington Garden would have to be one of the coooooolest places on the planet. A truly mindblowing wander. Great photo of the cacti… such a strange vista. Otherworldly experience, unforgettable. (must admit their Australian flora display was a bit lame though, perhaps because it was winter?)
The grounds of the Huntington offer many sights to please but nothing for me compares with the cacti gardens—I go back again and again. Thanks.
Heck, I wouldn’t want to be a bit tiddly, and try to walk through this lot…LOL! Quite a unique place by the looks of it !
It is a very large estate with gardens; I like the cacti gardens the most of any. I think it is the largest collection of cacti in the United States and one of the largest in the world. Always fascinating.

A beautiful garden landscape image of a beautiful garden!
Than you for the compliment. Regardless of how good the photograph is, the gardens are many times more beautiful and awesome.

Indeed…hate to take them on eh! LOL

What interests me, a year later, two years later, this army of cacti seems not to have changed one whit

wow! this landscape is simply fantastic. great shot!
The interesting thing to me is that any day of the year given the temperate climate, the scene is almost identical. Thanks for the good words.
