I wanted to remember three of our favorite Sydney experiences, the Sydney Opera, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
royal botanic gardens sydney, sydney, sydney harbour bridge, sydney opera house
This is the first time that I see this icone with a vegetal foreground. I like this perspective!
I agree with RX Chau – the whole image is softened by the flower and the iconic roof is viewed in a much more, to my uneducated eye, pleasing way – regards, Mattie
I have a large print of ‘Sidney Icons’ on the wall near my computer—there are times when I wish I had deadheaded the flowers but I didn’t wish to be arrested for harming public property. In the enlargement, one can see more clearly the individuals on top of the bridge—because no cameras were allowed on the climb, I don’t have any shots from that perspective. :-(
Awesome….. What a Grand Mix u have done well here Love It Francis
The composition is still pleases me after seeing the image several hundred times over the last three years.
you’ve also picked up the red, white and blue of the australian flag with the canna lillies, opera house sails and blue harbour and sky. lovely composition:-)
And it is a great reminder of our holidays in Australia :-)
what a lovely capture of an iconic place – love the composition with those beautiful flowers:))
Thank you for the compliment but only about 1% as good as being there!! ;-)
Now this is familiar!!!! Well composed and a lovely result! Well done.
Is it not quite remarkable how many photographs of the Opera House exist and each one somehow different! Thank you for your compliment.
I have enjoyed looking at your portfolio Cal – you certainly have an artistic eye for the unusual and your compositions of sometimes ‘ordinary’ (if there is such a thing) subjects are really interesting. This one of course is closer to home – the aspect is quite novel and very much more attractive than we are used to seeing. Well done.
Hi Calvin,I’m glad to see that you have visited our great country. You had lovely weather and it shows in this terrific shot including three of our favourite Sydney icons. Today is New Years Eve and the bridge will be the centre point of an enormous fireworks display. I wish you a Happy New Year.Best Wishes,Kathy.
A beautiful composition. Love the color placements…lends to a nicely balanced photo…
Thank you for the lovely compliment! As good as the image is, the actual location i so much more stunning. But we have a large copy of this photograph on our den wall to remind us of our holidays in Sydney!!!
