Awesome capture of a surfer at Makapuu Beach Park enjoying the huge waves brought on by the arrival of Hurricane Felicia, later downgraded to a tropical storm.
Located below Makapu’u Point, a portion of land marking Hawaii’s easternmost tip. This is a very popular beach for bodysurfing. Rabbit Island and Flat Island sit just offshore and makes this beach a picturesque beauty. High surf, fierce shore break, and strong undertoe often occur during the winter months which can make this beach a hazardous place
