CHALLENGE WINNER IN PHOTO’S OF LIGHTHOUSES
Point Arena Lighthouse is located 135 miles north of San Francisco.
Built originally as a masonry tower in 1870, it is located on a narrow strip of land that juts out into a portion of the cold Pacific Ocean embedded with dangerous reefs.
Toppled by the 1906 earthquake and then rebuilt in 1908, Point Arena Lighthouse is — at 115 feet — one of the tallest lighthouses anywhere in the U.S.
