Shadow Play
To me this photograph says alot.
I always love to throw in an element of Pathos in my work- turning something so mundane into something I would consider sublime. Visually, the shadows in this photograph are what capture my eye the most. And also the array of textures seen on the wall and ground.
In a broader sense it’s the cat that astounds me the most. It sits there for no apparent reason- maybe to give the photograph a sense of scale or to foreshadow the sad truth about, what we might consider, its natural habitat- who knows.
