I am a mixed-media artist who salvages the forgotten and forlorn, combining paper, paint and found objects into pieces that reflect a specific sense of place or locality. My assemblages and collages tell stories, resurrect memories or comment on the effects of change on physical environments. My temporary altars commemorate easily forgotten events, recall losses or celebrate the places our contemporary culture often ignores. Favorite localities appear repeatedly in my work, but I strive to interpret the current place where I live by documenting its ever-evolving history.
My work utilizes photography, digital post-processing, paint, collage, assemblage and temporary installations. I write fiction, including novels and poetry.
