I decided to write an entry about the inspiration for some of the water color paintings that I’ve done. As an creative person or artist I am always inspired by the things that I see and feel. With certain types of art, in this case water color paintings, I feel especially moved when I create these. In accordance with my personal style these images often contain very strong colors. To me this type of art is incredibly emotional and when it’s finished I always have a strong amount of pride in the artwork itself. I think that this is because I feel as though I am sort of painting parts of myself, perhaps my own feelings, into the scene before me.
I find that I am incredibly inspired by strong visual images or color. I feel as though there are a strong emotional states that I have that deeply move me to want to paint. The only way I can describe it is this feeling of intense creativity, as though I’m about to burst if I don’t go make or create something.
This feeling can also be provoked by music. I pride myself in my taste in music and some of my favorite music, especially Alter Bridge or Shinedown can move me into this inspired state of creativity. Once, inspired by music, I began to create templates of what I like to call Lyric Art, which is essentially the lyrics of a song that I adore arranged into a piece of art that clearly incorporates images and a specific design associated with the song itself. This can be anything from colors, to graphics or landscape scenes and is basically a visual interpretation of the song itself.
I am very excited about this line of art work and am eager to get the kinks worked out so that I can begin making full Wall Prints of my Lyric Art.
