Pictish Power by Matthew Scotland

Acrylic and polyfiller on board

I used a knife to ladle on acrylic paint mixed with polyfiller to sculpt this ancient vision of a Pictish bull.

The Picts are a people that stir my heart, their love of freedom and hatred of Babylon, Egypt and Rome has saw them written out of history, but i know they are the true foundation of Britain’s glories.

here’s an original Pictish bull, carved in stone some two thousand years ago

    You turned the page on this one You brought this sysmbol to life It’s like you went back in time and painted this just like it would have been done when the Picts walked the earth.. To see life as they would have seen it then paint it for today’s world Well done.Matt…..jeff
