Jdg 16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes."

samson was a character, he was so strong he could stand in a bucket and lift himself up : ) -
but seriously his story has long interested me, initially for its simplicity to read and grasp, as bible reading like anything worthwhile does not come easy at the start, and it had a film like narrative, the bad-boy superhero who goes out in a blaze of glory.
early on this lad from a godly family went following his own eyes into sin and eventually had them plucked out for his trouble, a picture of this world that the more we follow our eyes the blinder we end up – for sin blinds you, you wont even see it coz your blind! individually and globally we are desensitized into accepting higher degrees of sin until the spirit of god departs altogether – Sin binds as well, as samson was bound in chains, you play with it at the start but soon your tangled up. And the sheer size and weight of sin grinds, like samson ended up grinding that millstone stuck in a rut in a prison – hows that for symbology. They had him do the work of an ox, here he becomes a picture of the last stage in our end time population, animal!!!
My heart went out for samson,, a man of such amazing potential, a man whose purpose in life was to liberate, but he rejects the spirit for the flesh and ends up a blind pitiful beast at a wheel, a once impressive man now abandoned by his loved ones, a man of unrivalled strength now imprisoned beaten and mocked – its amazing he could even stand up between those twin pillars in that temple of dagon !! But even this wretched man was saved by grace with his last heartfelt prayer to God, he was redeemed and fulfilled the purpose of his people’s liberation in spectacular fashion. And the greater purpose of samson in the scheme of things was as one brick in the ancient patyhway starting with all humanity and narrowing through the Jews towards the greatest moment in world history, namely Jesus Christ.
So now no-one should need to go through what samson put himself through, we have Christ to save us now, no matter how far gone you think you are, He bore the lot for you, it is He who will bring the temple of flesh crashing down and free your spirit, ye shall be free indeed – and prophetically He will bring all the temples crashing down and free our world at last.
