Excellent work, Matthew. I like the multi-faceted nature of our mystery lady. As well as the seven hills in the back, which only intensifies the mystery, especially as Istanbul/Constantinople was also built on seven hills and was known as ‘Second Rome’ and where Constantine certified Christianity. When Mehmet overrun the city with his Turks, he renamed himself the ‘Caesar of Rome’. The fall of this Babylon was certainly bemoaned in the first Rome by the Pope.

It seems more complex, as Jerusalem was also built on Seven Hills. Certainly, the Jewish Christians must have had a sense of this when Bar Kochba proclaimed he was the Messiah and killed the Jews who refused to acknowledge this. After three years, the Romans destroyed his rebellion and completely destroyed Jerusalem, ploughing the city with oxen. They renamed the place Palestine (Philistia).

Even Mecca is built on seven hills

But surely John must have had a vision of that most depraved and corrupt city of them all built on seven hills: Edinburgh!!
