Eve returns to Adam having eaten the forbidden fruit. Acrylic on canvas. 38 × 36 in.
this picture is a collaboration with fellow bubbler Jeff Schauss who painted a loose background on canvas so that i could then see what images would appear from the textures. neither of us had any pre-conceptions of what the image should be, letting the work develop into its own form was a breath of fresh air from my usual pre-planned assaults from sketches and notes. and so an image of eden emerged, in that critical interjunction between the fall of eve and the fall of adam, and the changing of humanity forever.
oh my…I have no words…just sitting here crying at the feelings and images that rush through my soul as I view this astounding work of art.
Bless both your souls for such a stunning piece
thankyou so much tahnja, that means loads to me to hear you say that, glad you feel strongly too about this, it made me think a lot whilst i painted of the tragedy and ultimate glory that resulted from these fascinating past events
Ilove the lush celtic feel to this paradise – Adam looks kind of suprised at this turn of events! Nice collab.
nice one ariane, i never thought of it as celtic but you are highly attuned to such things i know – yes poor innocent adam looks a little bewildered by this event
