fire in the holy land

gzuz this is a vision brother, not a painting. The Al Aqsa mosque right in the middle there. excellent.

  • Matthew Scotland replied

why thankye brother, gives me a tingle to hear it is a vision, i felt the same when i saw it coming together

“I tell you, not a stone will stand on another” Jesus’s reference to Jerusalem in the end times.

  • Matthew Scotland replied

sheesh, and Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

  • JohnThunderbird

    JohnThunderbird

that’s it, I don’t think people realise that “wrath” means wrath, and this may be the day of wrath coming. he states many times that he comes not to bring peace but wrath. and so it goes

Fire and Brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah. It’ll be better for Sodom and Gomorrah than for those who face the Judgement Day…..(paraphrased, of course).

One message, many words. Still we all see the same…The Coming Wrath Of God. Woe unto those who blaspheme His Holy Name….

How amazingly beautiful such blazes of glory could produce. The fiery furnace cannot hold a flame to you dear Matthew…..

    S

  • Matthew Scotland replied

thankyou so much Sarai, your comments do inspire the fire of God’s love within me, keep it coming sister

  • Sarai

    Sarai

Where do you get you inspiration? I know His Word has a massive deal to do with it, but, I have so many serious commitments, ‘walking, doctors, ignorant family members harassing me, seeking employment with my condition, transportation, and homelessness’, just to mention the ones on top. I sooo long to just sit comfortably, with the materials, to let the artist and writer in me come to the surface. I feel her beneath the layers of duty. Longing to escape and be free. Begging the Lord I serve to help me..Still, I am like a new butterfly, released from its’ cocoon. If I only had a few days to live, what would be the most important….?

    Thank you, my new inspiration.
    Sarai

  • Matthew Scotland replied

some serious questions you ponder here, yes his word has much to contribute, his spirit and his love, my desire to fulfil my need to create as a creator in his image, well Sarai i dont have homlessness and doctors to meddle with my mojo so i suppose i’m lucky there, i shall pray for you to find that place that your heart desires, those butterfly wings shall find rest in the lord : )

  • Sarai

    Sarai

Pray, Pray and Pray some more. My calling is a deep one for the Lord. Wherever it leads now I want you to truly know that your work has inspired the Holy Spirit Fire within me. My circumstances, the situations and the people I was sent to dwell in the midst of to Preach His word almost got me….Thank God my son didn’t let me give up…He began to preach the very words I preached to him as he grew up. It was the refreshing of My Son preaching ‘to me’ that kept the embers of hope burning.

    Love your stuff Matty,
    S
You don’t mind me nicknaming you ‘Matty”, do ya?

  • Matthew Scotland replied

love your comments, here’s to your son, you cast your bread out on the waters and the return was profound, our bread of life shall sustain us forever.
you can call me Matty if you like, heck you can call me Nigel if you stay in touch, you can even call me Moira (but only on Thursday afternoons)
thankyou i am most honoured Sarah

  • Shanina Conway

    Shanina Conway

lol! Glad to hear I could help,
If it’s the end of time, a bunker isn’t go to help but a good brolly and a deck chair will at least provide a few moments comfort while viewing the apocalypse …;)

  • Waterfall

This is really wonderful. You said that you were trying to paint more loosely. I can’t work out how much is painting and how much is digital art. I’d be interested to know. How did you actually do it?

  • Raven5

    Raven5

This is truely deep, inspirational, frightening and also somehow comforting.

The thought of everything “disappearing” is much more severe than the thought of everything “burning up” because from fire comes re-generation, re-growth and new beginnings…
The heat may be danger and pain but the aftermarth is the start of an new season, a new cycle, a new inspiration, a new life.
I think the work is brilliant and the comments above clearly show that it is emotive too.

I’m vain enough to think I have the right to comment on such brilliant work but humble enough to know that my comments, good or bad, should not (and hoepfully will not) in any way distact that which is true creativity and true brillance.
    Thank you for sharing!

  • Matthew Scotland replied

thanks so much for that Raven, i agree about the flames – like those old forests that set themselves on fire to aid the saplings down on the floor – you ca be vain as you like with such eloquent insight – thanks

  • Waterfall

    Waterfall

I wonder if the end times will be like this. God’s power on the loose is bound to be terrifying, yet I bet it will be spectacularly beautiful and awe-inspiring too. This really is a great piece.

  • Matthew Scotland replied

thanks waterfall – i know what you mean – there is something exciting about the whole thing, even though its horrendous

  • Tammera

    Tammera

    Fabulous work…a marvel to behold…

between the worlds both devine and earthly….
as well as your attempt to do both abstract and realism….

    Stellar job on both accounts…

  • Matthew Scotland replied

wow – thanks for such a poetic appraisal of this – i am honoured

  • Monica Engeler

    Monica Engeler

This is amazing. The color is just awesome how you got the variations of colors together. Almost like when you drip different colors at random. Like a fantasy place all its own. All I can say at the end is Wow! Very cool painging.

  • Matthew Scotland replied

thankyou so much, luckily from the randomness, the deifferent elements fell favourably into place
