Artist's Description

This statue was a gift from Pueblo’s sister city, Puebla, Mexico. It stirred a controversy due to it’s being a “naked lady” and it shouldn’t be put up where too many people, especially children, would see it. There was some talk of not putting it up at all, but that would be an insult to Puebla. It eventually was erected in front of the Old Depot on Victoria Street, which is part of the Union Avenue Historic District.
