Good one! But how is the bacon different over there?

It’s a different cut. In Oz the standard is a middle bacon rasher, which is big and long and has the rind, and that nice meaty medallion and everything. Here, if you order bacon and eggs, it’s ‘streaky bacon’. Small, and for some reason, way over-salted. Plus it’s always crispy, ‘cos it’s so small, it’s almost flash-fried.

Bacon. Serious business. :o)

Ha ha ha, oh i know what you mean. I live in Aussie land and I spent 4 months trapped in Alaska and used to have “bacon” for breakfast. It’s cooked till there’s nothing left but a hard chunk of stuff that can no longer be described as bacon. Crispy doesn’t even cut it…
