As I stepped onto the battlefield
I could hear the screams of others
All I could see in front of me
Was blood, bodies and beloved brothers

As I ran through the puddle of darkness
I could see a bright shining light
No it wasn’t God calling me,
but the torches of the night.

My legs were quivering
My hands were shaking with terror
Because I knew the truth,
Today no one will surrender

As I kneeled down to say my prayer
A grenade flew across the black sky
A beautiful white dove rose in the air
And another mother’s boy was soon to die

Suddenly it all went dark,
I heard no scream
I looked up and saw a light
And I knew that God was calling me.
