The concept of transcending and the depiction of the spirit world are of the core of this piece and suit the theme of life and death. The face within the painting is used to invite the onlooker into the painting, this allows the looker to embrace the feast of colors. With this piece I further explore the concepts of; – being able to project yourself as the onlooker, within the painting, – allowing the colors of the painting to absorb into your energy field. I have started to portrait the soul, or energy body as a primitive soul being, mirrored on top of the body. This portrayal of the energy body, started to emerge from some “primitive-style” sketches and smaller paintings that I have recently been working on after I painted in the previous “sunburst” paintingsee more of my work on byrontik.com
