Spirit body and Consciousness
Painted in my Byron Bay art gallery / studio.
This painting is one in my series on dance and movement. In this series I study, which lines and colors, within a persons movement, define the soul of a person, to find the answer I worked for several weeks with one model.
We did four photo-shoots, over 2500 photos, hours of organization, observation and dialog, one video-shoot and over a 100 sketches. This resulted into a series I call: The Narrative of Motion. The series contain powerful mysterious poses, It feels like the spirit is pushed out of the physical cage of the body.

thanks guys, there is something really magic about this piece.
The painting manages to hold that Transcendental energy of ‘letting go’. the physical, sensual harshness of her physique and her spirit-form leading the physical form. Breaking out, no longer aware of physical constraints or ego, a place where pure expression or creation takes place.
This is one of those paintings that manages to take me on a journey, I love all the reactions and peoples interpretations I am getting about this piece.
Hey Jason, your right, I should really do a solo show with these, but I am still trying to find and make connections with the right galleries. The paintings will come back to my own studio this week so I can enjoy them for a little longer, before they go on display again.
