i get to overlook the things i didn’t like,
and edit my history as i see fit.
embellish where needed,
changing dates,
and moving to places i meant to go,
having families who never were,
and friends and lovers who were
by no means real.
i love sneaking up on 60,
if for no other reason,
because i will.
