fit.

...and what are the words one uses to describe a compilation?, works from my entire life?, fifty years of carrying around a yellow pad?, fifty years of writing and rewriting, changing the words, as their meanings change for me?

These pieces are extracted from my book of prose, “50 truths and 50 lies, the first 50 years.” Available Here

how fit are we to cope with our days?

where did we learn to offer forgiveness?
who explained love to us?
who coached us when we were down?
who instructed us how to care for our hearts?
who answered our questions about others?
who guided us to kindness?
and directed us from harm,
and taught us happiness from sadness?
who was that teacher?

and,

are we it to another?

Byron, This is wonderful and very inspiring…..and yes, with this writing alone, YOU are it to others. I am only sorry that I am just getting to know your work. I can’t wait to see more.

    Thank you Elizabeth.
Those are sweet words. I have a good friend who worked in the Head Start program on Kauai. She would relate tragic family stories to me, very emotional situations she delt with on a daily basis. From her many stories, I soon eventually realized that love is a learned craft, yes, an emotion too, but for one to learn love, they must learn to give. Freely.
Thanx for dropping by, you are welcomed anytime.
