Both Osprey parents expend considerable effort protecting the nest from intruders, including other Ospreys and potential predators. The female Osprey chased the crows away from the nest for sometime today. She had a number of vocalizations and wouldn’t return to the nest until the crows were well gone! She actually was getting so distressed that I started shooing the crows and I swear she came right over my head and looked at me and hovered, as though she was thanking me!
