In her only second flight, ‘Harriet’ the juvenile Osprey, finds the joy of the flying.
Ospreys are found on the coast and in terrestrial wetlands of tropical and temperate Australia and off-shore islands, occasionally ranging inland along rivers, though mainly in the north of the country.
They are sedentary, though they will range more freely in non-breeding periods. They are frequently faithful to a nest site, using the nest for many years.

Many thanks for checking out my photos, please feel free to give feedback! My wanderings in nature and observations of birds, particularly raptors, is what gives me great joy and constantly reminds me of the beauty and strength of life. My favourites are raptors, I love their freedom, grace, ruthlessness, pride, adaptability and flexibility and I learn much about parenting, protection and blind faith from them.

So you have named them??? :))
Lol … the juvenile Osprey I have because I feel like I know her, so she’s Harriet and the juvenile Sea Eagle who seems to follow me around I call Horratio. Crazy I guess but it’s the ones I really feel a very special affinity with!

I don’t think that’s crazy at all. When the deer were coming to my yard every day and letting me get close to them…I gave them names too. lol Maybe we are both crazy! LOL
Oh well at least it’s good crazy and it makes us happy … most people don’t know what they’re missing out on!
