Are You Safe! by

This one of a pair of beautiful, endangered and ground-dwelling birds that seem to have adopted us at my place of work. They stand like sentinels near the door but scurry for cover if anyone gets too close.

About byronbackyard

Many thanks for checking out my photos, please feel free to give feedback! My wanderings in nature and observations of birds, particularly raptors, is what gives me great joy and constantly reminds me of the beauty and strength of life. My favourites are raptors, I love their freedom, grace, ruthlessness, pride, adaptability and flexibility and I learn much about parenting, protection and blind faith from them.

    Great close up..!

  • Many thanks .. I’m the only one that can get close because I talk to them and make noises … my workmates can’t work it out as they just run away from them. Lol!

    “What type of bird are they Bryon?” Brillant close-up considering how timid they are. Love his eye and the colour:=}

  • Many thanks. They’re a Bush Stone-curlew, endangered in many areas now due to destruction of habitat!
