SABINE WOMAN by

“The Rape of the Sabine Woman.”

Not the nicest subject matter for a statue, but a great piece of art for sure.

This Statue is in a Piazza in Florence along with the (copy of…) the Statue of David and a bunch of others.

Lovely day, shame about the crowds and Dad being in hospital. 7 Weeks overseas and he doesn’t miss a beat until we hit Florence, then its puke-central for 3 days and a stay in the oldest hospital in Europe. (I don’t think they have cleaned it since it was first opened, but they were very friendly and helpfull, and Dad loved the nurses!)

Well.. regardless of the original intent of subject matter the statue is supposed to capture, it’s still beautiful. And this photo of it is beautiful too.

yes, great a great piece of art and great processing. The bit about the nurses and your Dad made me chuckle – sounds like my Dad.

Couldnt think of a better place for him to get sick….I loved that hospital for some reason. Bet he drank salt for two days just to stay in exra time. The statue is amazing, I love how youve taken this, great lighting and processing and I actually liked the subject matter.
