This is a crop of my image BOXER 1

The texture in this image was achieved by cropping the original digital file which drastically reduced the resolution of the file,

  1. Convert to B&W
  2. Adjust levels [contrast]
  3. Crop
  4. Push levels again even further
  5. Add soft blur layer
  6. Adjust soft blur layer.
  7. Repeat until happy!

Essentially, there is nothing there that wasn’t in the original somewhere…

Brisbane-based artist with a passion for grainy B&W photography and digital post-production work. I also teach photography online at The Photography Critique & Advice Group

Great original shot and nicely processed too. Has a feel of ‘Raging Bull’ about it.
