It was exactly what I was aiming for when I pressed the shutter release.

I had spent the afternoon wandering around their yard shooting from every angle. I walked around one of the huge pine trees in their front yard and I saw this gap in the trees and thought:
“Wow!, that’s THE shot”

I only took the one frame, I knew it would be spot-on.

Thanx Andrew, I was just in the right place at the right time, but generally even tho I shoot with a colour digital, I always “see” in B&W when taking the picture. I did know that this would look good, but that doesn’t happen very often.

Maine is Stephen King territory – say no more.

Actually Gregoryno6, it is just down the road from where Stephen King got hit by a car. He lives less than a mile away. The thing that was really … freaky … is that all SK’s book are set in this region. Its a really beautifull area but its very quiet, and EVERYTHING looks like every SK book I have ever read. Its an interesting feeling being there!

I love the way you have framed the scene with the trees and the lighting is superb. The Black and White treatment works very well. Excellent work

whenever I hear Maine I think Stephen King and this house looks like a house he’d describe or be shown in one of his adaptations.

This is very cool how the darkness surrounds the house, but the house is lit in great sunlight. What a fantastic black and white. I love the look. Great job!!!

Ah, I kept scrolling and found my answer to part of this remarkable shot: “It helped that I also used a polarising filter to darken the sky and bring out the clouds.” Beautiful photo.

byron man .. you do great work … becoming one of my favs to watch too and i m not even usually a black and white person

i dunno man i m going to be tough to fully convert … my world is color, flashing lights, rhyming poetic flows…. i dunno if i can slow myself down for it but
i def appreciate your perspective.. and ya know what .. maybe i will put up a black and white image soon .. what do you think ?
