Thanks Chris. I think it’s the sharp focus/depth of field along with the colors that draw people to this one. This one has always gotten nice comments and a couple of 10 ratings on Shutterpoint.

Hi Adam! This was always one of my favorite of yours at that “other” site!! A beautiful shot!

  • Adam Bykowski replied

Lots of people like this one. I guess people like it for the greens in the reeds and pastel sky combined with the sharpness in the foreground. I’ve thought it was always too soft in the background, but this one sold at the “other”site just a couple of months ago. However, June 23rd is my last day there. I pay too much for storage space to make enough money at it. I have lost money overall. My work is not that saleable I guess.

  • Barbara Brown

I think I like the softness, very peaceful to the eye! I think stock photography has just become too competitive due to the internet. To sell, one has to establish a customer base by marketing. Don’t have too much time for that at this time. I dn;t think it has anything to do with the images, just the marketing.

  • Adam Bykowski replied

You are so right. I know I have to do a better job or some type of job at all of marketing myself. I am going back to stay at Starved Rock in 2 weeks, and I am going to write an article on the park and its canyons. I am going to try to sell it to local newspapers or magazines and see if anybody bites. That might get my foot in some kind of door.

Thank you. This is a long lake, so it gives that “far in the distance” feel to it I guess.

Completely beautiful and sooo tranquil. I’m not surprised that this is so popular Adam. The depths, focus and colours are exactly what makes it so stunning. It’s no use… I’m going to have to fave it ;o)
