Im looking to buy a new Back Pack for all my camera equipment and I just dont have the time to go and research for one. I’am gearing towards the KATA R-106 but open to any suggestions.
My requirements are as follows:
1. Must be a Back Pack (No Slings nor Monster hiking packs)
2. Easy frontal access to my camera with a 70-200 zoom ready to go
3. Needs to hold 1 Flash, 4 lenses (Not zooms) and other small gear
4. Tripod holder upright center
5. Somewhat weather proof, not a must
6. Enough padding to withstand minor bumps
7. Priced from $100 to $300
If You have any suggestions or details please comment to this page with links or any other info. Thanks Much All!!!

I love my Lowepro Flipside 400AW…what i love about it is that the access to the camera is up against your back…and so when you need your camera easy to put pack down and upzip…easy and quickly. I have the Olympus E520 and three lenses but could easily handle another lens

Hey that is a pretty kewl bag. Question, where does the Tripod hook up to or rest on?

Ooops, didnt continue watching the demo video. I see it has a “Hide Away” Tripod holder underneath. I also like how it slings around while attached to You and has easy access for a quick removal. Very nice Carmel! Thanks!

There is a thing at the front that pulls down where the end of the tripod can rest…and the top is held with a strap on the front of the pack….its quite a light pack as well!!

AND….the best thing is that it has a waterproof cover that you can pull out and cover your bag…they truly thought of everything with this bag…i haven’t seen that demo…can you send the link…might learn how to use it better…lol Go check it out and see what you think!

Thanks Much Carmel! I just bought the 400AW today as a Fathers day gift for myself! I went with the Olive\Black combo cuz the black looked a bit to plain for me. Love how it swings around and gives me easy access to my Camera.

:) i just pick up my new custom made bag today !!! it’s HUGE!!!! not a back pack and not really helpful to you, but in my quest to find the perfect bag (before deciding to design my own) i was very close to choosing a DOMKE they have a huge range of gear but maybe not backpacks. that link also has kata bags or you can use the find a bag thingy….
good luck on your search !!! :)

I didn’t have the option of that colour combination, but really happy with the all black….but would have been interesting which one i would have chosen. i so love how it swings around to the front as well and gives you access to your camera and lens…and with so many pockets., the tripod holder and that rain coat…they really thought of everything!! Glad I could steer you in a good direction…and enjoy using it!
