The famous “Sutro Bath” ruins originally opened to the public in 1896. Featured 7 different swimming pools, One fresh water and Six salt water baths. The baths struggled with overwhelming operating and maintenance costs and eventually closed. A fire destroyed the building in 1966 shortly after closing.
