Feature Image – Bears of the world Group
Challenge Top 10 Finish – What Pleases You Challenge, Nikon D90 Users Group

This enchanting bear was just a joy to observe, he/she played and gave me poses as though she were working the camera like a fashion model. I had to protect my gear from heavy rain but I found the rain on her coat gave wonderful definition and texture to the overall image. Truth is I think there was a love interest.

Fabulous shot! Why did you ever THINK of not displaying her/him in your gallery? How close were you ….. really?

  • Barbara Burkhardt replied

This is a dear young bear that was rescued, so was enclosed in an area around the size of your extended back yard. I was wanting to be able to view them in the wild, however this darling was my compromise. He/she was a happy bear non the less. This is full frame / maybe two meters. tops.

Oh Barb … this is truly FABULOUS!!! The title is so perfect for the capture (he does look as though he was a little infatuated with the Aussie photographer < smiling >). I see this was taken in the Portage area, so you stopped at the wildlife rescue faciltiy … did you happen to catch the black bear up a tree (we happened to see one of the black bears up in one of the dead trees when we went by there earlier this summer .. back in June). I can’t believe that you were hesitant to post this capture, it is really AWESOME!! Love it!!! Instant fave!!! Take Care our Aussie friend ~ Rick & Deb ~ :)

Hey, Miss Barbara! Maine! Wow, you are getting around. Any Fall colors yet? Love Maine’s beauty, lobsters and, yes, whales!!! We’re in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, near Rhinelander. Fall color is just starting to peek out. Eagles are pretty abundant up here, too, unlike in years past. More later…have to run. I should have sent you a BubbleMail. I got carried away with this note. • Barbara Burkhardt replied

The colour is just starting. Hope you get some neat Eagles shots.

Kiss a moose for me. I don’t expect to do much in the way of eagle images since they are not as thick as one sees in Alaska. The eagles do have an immense nest at the entrance to the driveway of where our cabin is. Two days ago a parent and one of the juveniles were sitting on/near the nest. Not good lighting for a shot so we just enjoyed gazing at the pair for a bit before moving on. Miss B, I’m glad you posted this bear’s image. It really is lovely and should be displayed to the world. Later….

Oh World …........... this is my favourite Bear, well, there where others, but THIS sweetie I could almost hear think!
